Carcassonne in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France is a medieval city that is still in existence and inhabited today. In fact, Carcassonne is the only fortified town in Europe that is still filled with inhabitants. This city mixes history, culture and entertainment all into one great area. There are animal reserves within Carcassonne that feature numerous species such as falcons, ostriches, llamas and deer.
